Regional Branches Introduce High Technologies

Application of new treatment methods in regions. Currently there are four branches of republican specialized centers functioning in Khorazm region: Emergency Medical Center, Urology Center, Cardiology Center and the Center of Eye Microsurgery. According to acting chief of regional healthcare department Qo’pol Tangriberdiev, this promotes intensive introduction of high technological methods of diagnostics and treatment in medical care in the region.

Locked and loaded

Khorazm branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Aid is ready to provide emergency aid 24/7.
“Establishment and development of our Center significantly raised the level and quality of emergency aid,” says Davlatyor Boltaev, director of the branch. “This is mainly due to equipping hospitals with modern medical facilities. Anesthesia and respiratory devices and artificial pulmonary ventilation equipment that we received a year ago allowed us to increase the survival rate of patients in critical condition. Today the clinic continues to be supplied with new equipment. For example, two months ago, we received new artificial kidney machines, as well as an installation for endovisual surgeries, and soon we expect to have a new CT scanner.
“Khorazm region is one of tourist destinations in Uzbekistan,” added Davlatyor Boltaev. “Therefore, some of our patients are overseas guests. We are quite pleased when, after treatment they give high credit to the aid we provided.

Reseting visual acuity

A branch of the Republican Specialized Center of Eye Microsurgery introduces advanced surgeries for vision recovery.
“Today, in our Center we treat glaucoma, strabismus, and myopia by the latest technologies,” says Bakbergan Nurullaev, director of the branch. “I believe the most remarkable accomplishment is that we began to perform cataract surgery with the use of soft lens.”
“In the coming months, we intend to adjust surgeries to replace lens using phacoemulsificator of latest generation. Not only has this device a coaxial, but also torsion ultrasound that provides for safe surgery of patients even with the toughest of cataracts in neglected cases.”
”Our staff intends to continue to improve and introduce advanced technologies,” assured Bakbergan Nurullaev. “We always send our experts to training to Tashkent and leading foreign clinics, as well as to purchase modern surgical equipment.”

In par with head office

The branch of the Urology Center was among the first created in Khorazm region. Its specialists have actively worked on the development of high-tech treatment methods, and much is already done in this direction.
“First of all we began grasping the latest methods of removing stones,” says Rustam Nurullaev, director of the Khorazm regional branch of the Republican Specialized Center. “Earlier, this surgery used to be conducted in the region in conventional ways (with rupture), and today we effectively use remote, endovisual, transurethral methods of removing stones. In the near future we plan to master laser lithotripter and flexible urethroscope-based surgeries.
We have also adjusted transurethral surgeries to remove prostate gland adenoma that do not require incisions of soft tissues. In the near future we will acquire new equipment that will allow us to remove tumors of all sizes in this way.
The level of surgeries meets the highest standards. This uplifts the branch to a national-level establishment. Since the beginning of this year, along with Khorazmians, the clinic served inhabitants of Karakalpakstan, Bukhoro, Navoi, Samarqand, Qashqadaryo regions and even Tashkent.
“In the nearest future we will expand our Center: construction of another facility for surgery rooms is under way,” Rustam Nurullaev concluded the story.

Center for therapy and cardiac surgery

The Khorazm branch of the cardiology center is the first clinic of the country that combines therapeutic and surgical departments.
“The therapeutic unit already receives and treats patients,” says Zulhumor Yo’ldosheva, deputy director of the branch. “We use advanced techniques applied in our head office in the capital. Most of our patients are people with cardiac arrhythmias, ischemic heart disease, hypertension...”
“The surgical unit’s facilities are still being prepared for installation of high-tech surgical equipment. Meanwhile, surgical department operates on the basis of a multi-regional medical center.”
“In our department we conduct surgeries of both congenital and acquired heart defects, including in conditions of artificial circulation,” says Matkarim Sobirov, head of the cardiac department. “The equipment that we got after moving to a new surgical building is to expand. We also intend to learn the so-called bloodless surgeries conducted by angiographic installation.”
